When i first tried the Oliva V I was a very disappointed, i had read so much positive feedback all over. The cigar smoked badly, the flavours where a little flat and the lingering acid taste at the back my throat wouldn’t go. I really didn’t see what all the fuss is about. So after speaking a few people i decided to give the V another go.
After a hot day at work, i set off home with another Belicoso, this time from a different box and not a reps travelling show room. The cigar smoked perfectly, the draw the burn where both spot on. The flavours where well-balanced with rich coffee and cocoa flavours, subtle spice came through repeatedly along with subtle hints of licorice and honey. The acidy aftertaste completely gone replaced with rich strong tobacco flavours. The body of this part Ligero cigar was full and powerful throughout but the smoke was as a smooth as stream.
I can now see what all the fuss is about, one bad cigar and i was almost put off both smoking and stocking the Oliva Range.

Hi Glyn
Like yourself, I too had a mixed experience with the Beli’s big sister, the impressive Figurado. I bought a box and had three out of six which were just plain cack. However, I’ve since had a replacement box, but conversely to your experience, these were older (by about a year) and they’ve been a dream.
Nice blog you have.
Regards
Chris
