Gauntleys Christmas Spice

I have been wanting to make a Christmas tobacco for a while now. So this year i figured i had too give it go. One of our biggest selling tobaccos at Christmas are Black Magic & Optimum, they both have a sweet, almost Vanilla and Christmas pudding aroma. So Optimum makes up the sweet core of this blend. The addition of some spicy, festive Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Clove give this blend a little more character. While some heavy Rum cut twist slows down the burn rate and keeps this blend strong and smooth. Ideal with a strong Christmas ale.

The blend has been tasted by some of the shops regulars and im waiting on a review from American pipe smoker NWPipeSmoker (i hope customs didn’t intercept my package)

Its a slow burning tobacco, quiet strong really. Could do with a little drying out too. The clove tobacco tends to sit a little low down in the bag, give it a little mix up before filling the pipe will give a better experience. I am going to alter this blend a little to try and stop this from happening. The only issue is the lack of Clove Tobacco.

Due to the cost of Kretek tobaccos and there rarity in the UK, this tobacco costs £6.35 for 25 grams. But with the slow burning time, you get your monies worth. I also dont add anything to the cost for the time it takes to shred that much twist, with only scissors and my hands. You can buy this tobacco online, exclusively at Gauntleys.com
