Wilsons – Royal George

I have a little snuff 3-4 times a day and i like to mix it up a little. I have some RedBull for a wakeup or if im bunged with the sniffles (which i am now right now and cant find the Medicated). I have been enjoying Wilsons Camphor and Mild for the past few weeks, so i figured it time for a new shop tin.
I couldnt remember the scents in Royal George, so i was taking blind. On opening the tin, a talcum power aroma rose with something else. Somthing very familiar but just beyond my grasp of what exactly. I had a few pinches and the snuff is very fragrant. The talcum powder aroma made up less that i expected, Vanilla and a floral smell. Almost like an air freshener, but that smell i couldn’t place. After a good 15-20 mins of trying to place the smell and asking customers, i gave up and got my “cheat sheet” out.
A dry, light snuff with Vanilla, Rose and Violet. Parma-Violets, that was it. The snuff was light and very fine, it didn’t tickle places it shouldn’t. The aroma while pleasant hung around a little longer than i would have really wanted. A good hour and it was still there, no matter how many times i (almost) snorted neat Perique.
If you like floral scented snuffs that linger, then this is an ideal snuff for you. Or even if your going somewhere you dislike the odor, just nip to the toilet and have a pinch. Great Aunty Mable need not smell like cabbage and boiled sweets any more. To say i would call this a Ladies snuff would be sexist, so i wont. Not my regular cup of tea, but not a unpleasant experience by any stretch of the imagination.
