I should have planned my smoking order, hindsight great isn’t it? After the Irish Whiskey, this light blend is going to taste at its best. I gave it a good 30 mins of beer and some tongue rest. The cut of this tobacco makes for easy packing. The shag cut looks as you would expect, golden but moist. The pack aroma is of rich amaretto, no tobacco just sweet Amaretto. If you dried this stuff you could roll cigarettes with it. My pre light draw produced a strong amaretto taste. The light was a little awkward, due to the moistness of this tobacco. But after a few goes, I was in business. To begin with, the smoke was cool and smooth. As you can guess, this smoke was sweet and tasting of Amaretto. It smoked a little slow and sluggish, due to the moisture in the blend. Bit the tongue a little from time to time. So far this tobacco lives up to its name, Amaretto!
The second half of the bowl saw this tobacco, start to run out of…..erm…..steam. The Amaretto began to fade, towards the end you could almost taste the tobacco. I was expecting the tobacco to be bitter by now, luckily it wasn’t. The smoke was getting hotter and hotter, losing its smoothness as well as the sweet flavours. As I ended the bowl, the biting began. Bitterness started to grow a little so it go.
Like I said at the start, I smoked these in the wrong order. Had I started on this blend, I might have got a little more out of it. Very light and while being flavoursome, it still needed something else. Samey for a good ¾ of the time, sweet only tasting like Amaretto. “But that’s what its supposed to taste like!” It bit like most gold blends do, the added moisture probably helped prevent this. So im going to pass on this one. No tobacco just casings. If you want a tobacco that’s as easy to smoke as shisha, then grab some of this. Cheap and mild, but id smoke in a big pipe or sup slowly to get the most out of it!
