St Claude – Prelude

Filed under Cigar News, Smoking Diary, Tobacco News {no comments}

The time is finally here, I’m off to France tomorrow morning. I can’t wait, 2 of my favourite things: mountains & pipes.

I am flying out and spending the first night in the alps with John. Then heading to st Claude on the second day.

The main reason for this visit, is to meet Pierre Morel. The last independent artisan pipe maker in st Claude, the birth place of the briar. Pierre like many pipe makers in st Claude, learnt his craft from his father(Pierre Morel sr). Over the years he has worked for the likes of Butz Choquin, but now creates some outstanding models.

I have a few euros, so watch this space. I just might have to get another sexy lovat.
