Balance Of Silence – 2004 Promo

This CD is only 2 tracks long, but one of the first impressions I got while listening was that it reminded me of Killswitch Engage & 36 Crazyfists. rn rnThe first track, entitled Separate Yourself is a fast paced heavy hitter which really gets your foot tapping. The song follows a similar heavy theme all the way through but it is, never-the-less a great song which towards the end features a solo that even Kirk Hammett would be jealous of.

Each musician in this band has some serious talent behind them and if you check out their site http://www.balanceofsilence.com it even tells you that members of American underground band, God Forbid have said great things about them. rnrn rnThe second track of this CD, has the name Path of Fate, and it is quite similar to the first track in that it follows the same dynamic that is just grinding, heavy, hardcore metal all the way through.

As good as this band are though, I do have to stress that their songs are a little too similar sounding, as both tracks on this CD have screaming all the way up until the pre-chorus/chorus when the screaming stops and singing takes over ala Killswitch Engage. Again this is a good song and I can’t begin to say enough about how good the musicians are. But I’m afraid that the second song on this CD just doesn’t do it for me. I do recommend that you go see them live if you get the chance. They are excellent in that area.
