Bite The Kerb!
Bite the kerb, fairly new to the world of gigging having only formed in 2004 with numerous lineup changes finally getting them to where they are today. That's metal meets hardcore meets screamo meets noise. Sounds like falling down the stairs headfirst with a trail of pots and pans coming right after you or as they so bluntly put it themselves like a nazi jumping on your head. You decide for yourself if that tickles your tastebuds. The double bass peddling compliments the nifty guitar work with songs varying in speed. If you're into your lamb of god, mastodon etc you'll like these. However weakness shows through such as disorganisation and elements sounding the same and whilst i liked what they were doing i felt a tighter song structure wouldn't go amiss but the sound they have is one that they've carved themselves.

Yes My Ninjas?
Was that some mad outer body experience transforming us into the realms of another earth? Did I really just hear nearly every musical genre in the space of half an hour? The answer? Yes my Ninjas. Now if you've seen south west nine you'll know what I mean when I say if you accidently put your hand in LSD this is what the first 30 minutes might sound like. A band not afraid to dabble in the many holes of music and entertainment being one of the keys to unlock the dancer in us all. Heavy metal/ electro/ d n b/ ska it's all there like a bargain bucket of music. Defintley an experience and I'd recommend the next person in the street to go and see this unique band.

Mothertrucker
Next is Mothertrucker an ambient slightly minimalism band with instruments being the essence who needs words? Texture increasing and instrumentation running in and out each other gorgeously. With influences ranging from Mogwai to Queens of the Stoneage to even a bit of Tool and having been described as stoner rock should be enough to interest you. There is stuff like this out there it's just getting the people into it. The guitars were making an immense dark yet mellow sound filling the room with a trance like eeriness. Perfect to chill everybody out inbetween the other bands like the slice of cheese that fits so well inbetween a burger and bun.

Sanzen
Headlining the saggy pants night is Sanzen with influences including AC/DC, Motorhead and Dillinger Escape Plan. The guitars monstrous riffs run us into an adrenaline induced race into a dark hole. Their album ' This Is Gun City' a generalisation of how they see Nottingham shoots a bullet to places other music cannot reach. Even if your music taste doesn't swing this way with a gentler edge aswel as the rougher moments makes for an interesting set. With interest from Metal Hammer and Kerrang the future is theirs. A band I'de like to see again soon, as you should too.
