Course Information
With all new industry standard facilities, Broxtowe offers students the chance to meet real life industry guests throughout the course including bands, producers, promoters, session musicians and managers. Personal tutorials are also part of the course offering advice on all areas including recording and management contracts. The strong links with the industry are incorporated into the courses with artists being put forward to talent scouts and record labels. Students will also play five local gigs at Nottingham's leading independent music venue Junktion 7 and one regional show at the end of the academic year.
Creative Music Producer
This course is designed specifically for music producers /DJs who are keen to develop their skills.
The course is technology orientated.
Learn: recording, sequencing skills, production skills and music business.
Contemporary Popular Music (Level 2)
Designed for musicians (drummers,vocalists, guitarists, bass players) who demonstrate music potential.
Learn: song writing, performance, music business and musicianship.
Contemporary Popular Music (Level 3)
Designed for established musicians who are keen to succeed in music who are ready to step up to the next level.
A 2 year course.
Vocal Artist
Designed for beginner vocalists who want to develop their skills
Learn: practical skills, song writing, music industry and performance techniques.
HND in Music Performance Level 4
2 year course
Designed to take performing and recording skills to higher level.
Gain experience in organising and promoting events, song writing, aural perception, arts management, audio visual production.

Over fifteen years of working in the industry. The founding member and bass player of Nottingham group Pitchshifter, founder member of This is Menace, featuring members of Funeral For a Friend, Hundred Reasons, Sikth, Amen, Pitchshifter, Therapy. Recorded and released nine albums across seven record labels (major and independent) including: MCA, Geffen and Sanctuary Records, worked with million selling American producers such as Dave Jerden (Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Offspring). Toured twenty-five countries at stadium level with Black Sabbath, Deftones, Incubus, Tool, Ozzy Osbourne,the Queens of the Stone Age. Filmed eight promotional videos and recorded numerous radio sessions for John Peel, the Radio One Rock Show and XFM. Placement of music into video games and films. Successfully released CDs and DVDs on own record label, tour manager for Pitchshifter and for platinum and gold selling artists including Roland Gift (Fine Young Cannibals), Funeral for a Friend and the Sisters of Mercy. Wide experience of tour accounting, logistics, production (PA systems, lighting and stage crews). Strong links within the industry including Press Agents, Labels, Managers, Promoters, Booking Agents, Tour Managers, Artists and Media.
