Band Bio

Epoche (Bio)

Kostantino Kyrris (lead Guitar), and Phil Tietjen (vox, rhythm guitar) formed Epoche (originally named Mame) in the autumn of 2003. The group played shows with an original line up including Bryn Jones and Lance Hume and shows with changing line ups before they found Graham Sanders (drums on the "lust") in summer 2004 and Thom Millington (bass) in November.

The group have spent their time sculpting a unique style of experimental post grunge. Epoche's sound is one that combines jagged licks and phrases of discordant melody alongside intense grooved sections of hard-hitting drums. Tones of desperation combined with a sinking feeling of rage cause a physical reaction of immobility to the human form. These themes are represented by progressive extensive rhythm structures that break into explosive chorus lines. The roots of this style are shown in the "Lust for The Odessa" ep.

The journeys course called for another change in Epoche's line-up. In October of 2005 Tom Jepson stepped in on drums. Once again Epoche are re-evaluating their sound to further sculpt their style into a more personal waveform. The next stage is already more visible in the way they evaluate their sound in the live environment. Change is most defiantly in motion.
