Sitting in my garden with a rum and coke and the sunshining, I decide its the perfect time for some ska!! Mumrahs EP Huzzah seems like the perfect choice. rn The CD bounces in with the catchy toilet and continues to spring from song to song like a small rabbit. rn The mix of almost grungy guitars and crisp, clear brass is very catchy and is clever in its use. Sometimes though throughout the CD the changes seem a little out of place and quick changes from style to style can get frustrating. One particular instance of this is Robochap vs Partyboy. Dont get me wrong, this is a good track but very hard to follow. Its just trying to do too much on one song. rn I think the CD peaks at Floggin a Dead Horse which is a lovely little epic with some nice guitar work especially towards the end. Unfortuantely the strong, memorable songs. start to slowly peter out from there and the last couple feel like album fillers. Perhaps if some of the songs were shortened slightly they would retain their punchiness and vigor. rn Overall, Huzzah is a wicked little summer scorcher CD that is sure to make your holiday season hope, skip and jump.
