Wagstaffe are a Notts based energetic Pop-Punk band. Formed in 2001 at Toot Hill School, Bingham, the band jammed casually for a year before debuting on the live scene in January 2003, shortly followed by the release of the band’s self-titled EP in March.

Wagstaffe quickly gained experience over the summer of 2003, and in Nov recorded their 2nd Studio EP at ‘The Hive’ in Derby. It was with this EP that the band began to establish themselves outside of Nottinghamshire, playing some the UK’s finest venues including Sound (Leicester Square – London), Nottingham Arena, Nottingham Rock City and Wolverhampton Wulfrun Hall, and supporting such bands Consumed (Golf Records), The Filaments (Household Name Records), Tribute To Nothing and Backwash (both of LockJaw Records).
The band returned to the The Hive in Aug/Sep 2004 to record their 3rd EP, Game Over. Drummer Chris left the band to go to university in September, while the remaining three members decided to pursue music full time, finishing off the EP alone before recruiting Nils Larsen as Chris replacement in Oct.
After 5 rounds, Wagstaffe eventually became one of only 6 out of 400 to reach the Final of the National Battle of the Bands final at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall in January.
The band are now taking their powerful live show all around the UK, as well as writing for their upcoming 4th EP. Check them out at a venue near you soon
