“Dark synth pop rock, with an edge of electronica, and forever memorable melodies”

And so the story begins….
The origins of Seretone were forged deep within the melting pot of the most famous
and spiritual music festival in the world, Glastonbury. A chance communion between
Nick Keen and Gav Stephenson over guitars and glowflies in the dusk of the Stone
Circle led to these two enlightened souls agreeing to meet once more post festival
come down in the small lost village whence ironically both they came. Somewhere on
the other side of the festival site, between the dance tent and the stars, fellow village
resident Adam Berman heard rumours of this gathering, and followed the pair all the
way home with synthesiser in hand. Upon their arrival, they encountered Ralph
Frost, friend of Gav and Adam and guitar virtuoso and the four of them set about
experimenting with ideas for songs and sounds. The line up was completed when
Jeremy “Did” Strang, mystical traveller and lifelong friend of Nick, returned to the
shores of the UK after a round the world trip, stepped straight off the plane into the
Seretone rehearsal room and picked up the sticks that lay dormant on an unused
dusty drum kit. Seretone were born.
The band has grown from strength to strength since they all first came together with
a love of making music. They have gigged extensively across the UK and can now
boast a large and loyal fan base nationwide. Their travels have impressed several
promoters and industry types, the result of which has culminated in recently signing
a deal with fledgling London based indie label Organic Records to distribute a debut
1/2album, “Secret Robot Romance”, online on one of the internets biggest music stores,
7Digital.
It became apparent from the early days of the band when songs were written in small
spaces with mainly acoustic instruments that the importance of a melody was
paramount, a melody that would linger in the ears like a memory that refuses to fade
away. This has been the mainstay of a Seretone sound which has quickly developed
from ambient folk beginnings, into the fully grown pulsating rush of twisted electro
pop that now erupts from the chosen medium of the listener, be it live or recorded.
Seretone don’t subscribe to trends, they avoid the cliché. Their own individual
musical preferences span to the extreme the entire spectrum of the history of sound.
By assimilating a vast array of styles from those who have influenced and inspired
the band, they truly believe they have created a sound that is both impossible to
pigeonhole, yet can be universally appreciated by everyone.
Instantly comfortable upon the vast open space of a festival stage, or within the
claustrophobic intensity of an underground club, Seretone’s live performances are
cathartic experiences where kaleidoscopic flashes of light explode from the dark
verses before anthemic choruses erupt in a frenzy of controlled chaos.
