Firstly, great name for a band! These guys mix Tool-esque metal with emo, in a combination with big vocals and even bigger guitars. "Back Around" is a great song with catchy guitars and great vocals. With a Slipknot style mid 8, that I really wasn't expecting, it sounded good but not sure if it fitted with the rest of the song though. Overall a good hard rock track to start this E.P off. "Your Man" is next on this offering, it has a nice guitar intro but WHERE ARE THE VOCALS??? Oh here they are 1 minute 40 seconds into the song! I felt this was too long an intro but with some nice drum work and punchy guitars it was a powerful song. It did however, get a bit samey and predictable. Last track is entitled "Feed The Filth", immediately I'm thinking of giving bacon to policemen! Anyway, this track is obviously recorded in a different studio from the others but with a catchy Deftones style guitar riff to really spice this recording up it works well. The nice interlinking bass and great stomping drums hold it down well and with a great mid 8 section for all you kids to mosh too, I can hear a lot of potential in this band. Judging by this CD the best is yet to come from Cerebral Vacation. Overall they are a great heavy rock act.
