Kuato Demo

So After being passed this CD from a friend of mine rn I didn’t really know what to expect. The CD is packaged with a rn combination of Pac Man and eighties video game pics. So on to the first rn track Mono. A Catchy upbeat Acoustic start with samples of heartbeats, rn Video games and Alice in Chains style vocals, No set verse, chorus arrangement rn but then that’s part of the Kuato charm. Great opening track. rn 5 Letter word Blasts in with synth bass and highly processed live beats. rn Another catchy guitar track with masses of noises, strings, white noise rn and choral vocals. It amazes me how so many tracks with every instrument rn playing a completely different melody seamlessly combine together to rn make a massively atmospheric tune. rn With Turin breaks style piano and punchy bass this track gets bigger rn and bigger bar by bar. Track 3 then, Nick Thornleys Vocals take a prominent rn lead in this track entitled "Waste of time". Imagine if you rn could create a singer that has the soul of Jeff Buckley, Fused with rn the discordant melodies of Thom York……Well Nick is that singer! rn Incredible pianos, tight drums and lush guitar on this track make it rn a real chill out song. Kuato are not afraid to experiment with sounds rn and musically you cannot possibly label them to any style. Recession, rn the 4th track sounds like a more electronic version of Muse but minus rn the whiney crap. Doubled up bass and Ladytron style synths combined rn with a fat guitar. Great track Last track then, "You Should Know" rn Is an Atmospheric acoustic song building into a string section the London rn Philharmonic would be proud of! Another well written song with memorable rn vocal harmonies and hooks. Kuato Are still fairly unknown in Nottingham rn but it wont take long, with upcoming gigs at The Maze and other local rn venues Kuato will be on the cover of N.M.E before you know it.
