Pennyway – Mellor Rebellion

Pennyway are a four piece Indie rock band with a punk edge. Formed in May this year, Pennyway haven’t been around too long, but with a demo already released they obviously have big plans for the future rn rn They kick off with the song Warcry. This is one of the more punky tracks, with a prominent electric guitar and distorted muse type vocals. Its a very lively track compared to the rest of the demo. rn The second track Anything Is more relaxed, although nothing musically stands out about it, I still find the lyrics very catchy.rn Track three Falling out with love has quite an empowering feeling to it. It has a nice melodic guitar riff throughought that works wonderfully with the subtle bass guitar, drums and lyrics designed for the broken hearted. rn The fourth song Magical is an acoustic number, another track for people who have loved and lost, about how people feel when they split up. Again nothing really musically amazing about it but the song itself is pretty good in wholern The final track on this demo, An eye for an eye, leads back to the original stylings of the first song with the punk edge being more involved and the electric guitar being more relevant within the song, but slow paced like their more acoustic songs. rn rnThe whole demo is very mashed, from songs ranging from punk rock, to soft acoustic. If you like bands that can switch styles like their underwear but still keep it relevant then I would definitely give pennyway a listen. rn These guys, although pretty new, could easily be a recognisable name within the underground scene pretty soon.rn
