Band Bio

The Authentics (Bio)

“Both guitarists were energetic, and with their rolling riffs, and drums that smack you in the face, these guys were definitely stomping punk-rock that you couldn’t help moving to.” Taken from J7 BOTB 2004 Heat 1

Decadent rockers The Authentics strengthen their reputation as one of the best new bands in the country with the release of their fifth self produced CD ‘Back Down to Earth’ recorded at well renowned Rooksmere Studios, Northants.

Getting their sleazy kicks from powerful stage performances, the band have rapidly ascended in 2005 as one of the best live acts in the UK and with a reputable and devoted fanbase, The Authentics amazing blend of genres has seen them touted as ‘stomping punk-rock that you couldn’t help moving to” (Saggy Pants Online Magazine, July 2004) as well as having an i’ncredible stage presence(Solve Records, 2004) and “better stagecraft and better songs than two highly touted bands with deals and major backing (Leicester Mercury, June 2004).

Shaking the walls of venues down to the ground, their awesome collection of songs have received amazing feedback from national press titles who say well lets just say u couldn’t ask for better. The Authentics have been creating their own sound with a mix of catchy riffs, punk lyrics and upbeat solos. (www.rockontheweb.co.uk, March 05)

Recently the band has had their last single ‘The Right Stuff E.P.’featured on Pulse Unsigned on Sky Digital Channel 905, been featured on ‘Punk and Disorderly’radio show in the Midlands, were added to an Unsigned Compilation through www.ukbands.net, starred as stop motion puppets in their first video with Mime Productions and had their own music played both nationally and internationally on radio stations including Purple Haze (Argentina).

They have hit the road running ever since breaking out of the local scene, have achieved high profile coverage from the BBC (‘the hardest working band in the city’) and whilst proudly acknowledging The Clash, Foo Fighters, The Beatles and Guns n Roses as their heroes and influences, the band have still worked hard to develop their own unique and evocative sound.
