I’d heard a few good things about Ugli prior to recieving rn this CD, but I had no idea what exactly they were about, just that I rn had to check them out. So anyway, I really didn’t know what to expect, rn but I definately wasn’t expecting to be introduced to, in my opinion, rn one of the tightest, most powerful and all round best bands to emerge rn from the midlands. Their blend of heavy, powerful and driving bass lines, rn funky guitar work, and soulful bluesy vocals draw you in, and refuse rn to let go until every last note, word and beat has sunk deep into your rn skin. I don’t quite know why, but you can somehow feel the energy that rn has been thrown into each track. It’s not like listening to any cd, rn Ugli are more than right when they say that they aren’t your average rn ’student’ band, they’re so much more than that. Just the raw emotion rn and energy that come accross through their music is incredible. I really rn can’t explain it any more than that, you just have to experience it rn for yourself. I don’t think you heard me did you? I’ll say it a bit rn louder, rn YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO CHECK OUT UGLI BECAUSE THEY ARE EASILY ONE OF rn THE BEST BANDS YOU ARE EVER LIKELY TO SEE! rn O.k, lets hope it sunk in that time. So, you’re now probably expecting rn me to compare them to a load of bands that you might already know. but rn thats the thing, they really do have a style of their own, and I would rn really be spoiling that if I started attempting to compare them to others. rn All I will say is that, if you like funky, heavy, dirty, soulful, bluesy rn rock ‘n roll, then Ugli will fit right in. And if you don’t like any rn of the above, you will do after hearing these guys.
